Ingmar Bergman's masterpiece Fanny and Alexander have, among others, won four Oscars and two Guldbaggar. The action takes place in the early 1900s in a small Swedish town where we find family Ekdahl, dominated by a rich and talented widow and her three sons. When the son Oscar dies, his widow marries the bishop of the city and moves in to his austere and strict home with the children, Fanny and Alexander. A whole new life awaits them and we will follow this family through sorrow and joy, light and darkness.
