A documentary about a teacher seminar that operated in Kajaani, a rural small town in central Finland, for 113 years until the decision to close it down. Through historic archive materials and tales from people who taught and studied there, the film tells about the great transition in Kajaani and in all of Finland from a poor and isolated country surviving on agriculture and forestry into a modern welfare state.
