Roman Polanski's drama from 2019 depicts France's most famous legal scandal - the Dreyfus affair. At the end of the 19th century, the Jewish officer Alfred Dreyfus is accused of espionage and sent to the Devil's Island to serve a life sentence. But a fellow officer of Dreyfus becomes suspicious and starts to look into the case. He soon discovers that not everything is what it seems and struggles to reveal a deep political conspiracy. An officer and spy were awarded three César Awards, including Best Director.
